John’s International Boats, or Jibslist, is the world’s largest database of sailboats, with over 15,000 sailboats and counting.
This one-of-a-kind sailing boat encyclopedia was started in 1995 by John Mayer and since that time, all sailboat specifications have been carefully entered by hand.
In addition to stats on length, beam, draft, keel, rig, materials and country of origin, the site features an “articles” link on the homepage with history, pictures and resources about the 420, Catalina 30, Catalina 22, Vanguard 15, Flying Scot, Sunfish, Pearson Triton, Hobie, Catamaran, Beneteau, Trimaran, Laser, Alberg and Tartan Ten. Of course, these sailboats represent only a tiny fraction of the boats in the jibslist sailboat database!
We also feature information and links to sailboat builders, sailboat designers, sailboat associations, sailboat journals, sailboat magazines and individual sailboat reviews. Some people call us a sailboat directory. Others call us the world’s greatest sailboat encyclopedia. No matter what you call us, we hope you will enter the name of a boat into our search box and enjoy!
